Recycling centers that accept: Vehicle Solvents
Vehicle Solvents contain harmful chemicals and cannot be recycled. Do not pour down drains, inside and outside, or on the ground as this can cause contamination.
Use less toxic alternatives, such as non-chlorinated degreasers and cleansers.
Most vehicle solvents can be recycled at a local car maintenance shop. See the locations in the Transmission fluid section for locations.
Vehicle solvents must be solidified with an absorbent material, such as shredded newspaper, litter, or sawdust.
All solidified solvents should be placed in a bag or wrapped in newspaper before disposing of with your household garbage. Triple rinse the container, solidifying the rinse water with the material, and recycle the container. See the Recycling Directory for that material.
