Eco-Focused Nonprofit Represented for Second Year in a Row in Gwinnett Chamber Recognition of Premier Businesses that Drive Economic Development and Enhance Quality of Life
Lawrenceville, Ga. – March 22, 2019 – Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is proud to announce that it has been nominated for the second year in a row for Gwinnett Chamber’s IMPACT Regional Business Award. Long recognized as a leading nonprofit organization in Gwinnett County, the nomination comes on the heels of Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful being named Best of Gwinnett 2018 in the Charitable Organizations category, as well as being recognized with both a Governor’s Circle Award from the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation and a President’s Circle Award from Keep America Beautiful. Reflective of Gwinnett and metro Atlanta, the IMPACT Regional Business Award program pays tribute to premier organizations in top industries that are driving economic development and job creation, while enhancing quality of life.
“I can hardly believe that we’re only one quarter in on 2019 and we’ve already been recognized with three outstanding honors,” said Schelly Marlatt, Executive Director of Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful. “We are tickled pink to add this nomination as another feather in our cap – a clear indication that we’re doing our job well. This marks our second year to be nominated. While our connection to the ‘quality of life’ aspect of this award is clear, you might not believe that a nonprofit organization could have a hand in economic development. However, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful and our programs are all geared towards the creation of a cleaner, greener, more beautiful Gwinnett County. A litter-free, graffiti-free and sustainable community is highly attractive to corporations considering placing their headquarters or a hub here in Gwinnett.”
In addition to the Nonprofit category to which Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful has been nominated, the IMPACT Regional Business Awards also cover the following sectors: AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction); Education; Healthcare; Hospitality; Information Technology; International; Service; and Small Business. An overall IMPACT Regional Business Awards recipient will be selected from among the individual category winners.
“Now in its fifth year, the program has provided exposure to more than 1,500 best-in-class businesses. Bringing together leaders across these important industries is another example of how the Gwinnett Chamber can fulfill its mission to serve as a community forum,” said Dr. Dan Kaufman, president & CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber.
The awards ceremony will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the Infinite Energy Forum. For more information, visit www.ImpactBusinessAwards.com.
