Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful to Host 12th Address at Infinite Energy Center August 30 with Gwinnett County’s Bicentennial Commemoration as Theme
Lawrenceville, Ga. – August 23, 2018 (Press Release) – Commemorating its 12th occurrence in Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful’s (GCB) 38-year history, the 2018 Governor’s Environmental Address will mark Governor Nathan Deal’s fifth and final appearance on the Infinite Energy Forum stage before he passes the torch on to a new Georgia Governor in January 2019. In addition to a speech regarding the state of Georgia’s environment from Governor Deal before an audience of up to 1000 community and business leaders, the event will also include the formal presentation of a scholarship to a current Georgia Gwinnett College student and the recognition of GCB’s Environmental Consciousness and Stewardship (ECoS) Award recipients. Hosted in the Grand Ballroom on August 30 from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., just a few tickets remain to be present for this historic affair in the midst of another historic event – Gwinnett County’s Bicentennial.
“We are so honored to combine Governor Deal’s final Environmental Address with the Bicentennial,” said Schelly Marlatt, Executive Director of Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful. “As we recognize Gwinnett County’s rich and colorful 200-year history, it’s exciting to think that we’re making a little bit of history of our own. The Governor has left quite a legacy where Georgia’s history is concerned, and it means so much to us that he has made time in his busy schedule for the Environmental Address one last time. It just goes to show how much the environment and Gwinnett community mean to Governor Deal. In his honor and in celebration of the accomplishments of our scholarship and ECoS Award recipients, as well as our incredible network of community partners that include the Gwinnett County government, Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources, Solid Waste Department and so many more, we’ve set our sights on making this THE event of the Bicentennial.”
