Top 15 in ’15: Recyclables and their Destinations

Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful’s Top 15 Recycling Search Terms for 2015

GCB Recycling Page - Drop Down Menu

As we look ahead to another exciting new year, it’s always wise to take a glance back for lessons from the previous year. For instance, we recently learned that the following were among the Top 15 Search Terms on Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful’s Recycling Web Page dropdown menu to learn where local individuals and businesses can recycle certain materials:

  1. Paint
  2. Aluminum Cans
  3. Carpet and carpet padding
  4. Yard Waste
  5. Cardboard
  6. Televisions
  7. Motor Oil
  8. Refrigerator
  9. Books
  10. Batteries- Household
  11. Glass Bottles and Jars
  12. Appliances
  13. Fluorescent Tubes
  14. Antifreeze
  15. Computer Systems

As one of our many programs and services, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is pleased to provide a comprehensive online directory of locations that accept a wide variety of recyclable materials. If you haven’t discovered this invaluable tool, we invite you to explore it today and utilize it often.  For those of you who HAVE discovered it, that brings us to another lesson from 2015…

The fact that you used the dropdown menu to search various items and where they can be recycled shows that you truly CARE about the environment. Not only is there an extra step involved – albeit simple – in searching for locations where certain materials can be recycled, there’s also the added step of delivering the material to said location. You didn’t take the easy way out and leave it by the curb to wind up in a landfill. You showed your concern – which is the founding concept behind the ME (My Environment) Campaign. Launched by Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful and Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in 2015, the ME Campaign is designed to foster a sense of pride and personal responsibility among local citizens, businesses, civic groups and organizations. It seeks to meaningfully engage and actively motivate people throughout the community to become stewards of the environment we all share. So pat yourself on the back, environmental steward!  You’re off to a great start in making the ME Campaign a glowing success!  THANK YOU!
