Old medications are not recyclable.
DISPOSE OF
Medications should not be disposed of in a landfill or down the drain as it can cause contamination. The drugstores listed below will allow you to mail in old medications to be incinerated. The envelope can be purchased online at the links provided or in stores.
RECYCLE
Recycle the bottles. Put each medication in a separate Ziploc bag and write on the outside the type of medication in it. The bags are less harmful to the environment than the bottles. #5 plastic bottles can go to the other locations listed below. See the “plastic bottles” section for #1-2 containers.
