Maintain a healthy lawn by planting local grass and plant varieties that grow well in Georgia’s climate.
Use lawn clippings, compost, or manure as natural fertilizers.
Try watering deeply rather than frequently or adjusting the pH level.
Try to use up the product or give it to a friend, neighbor, or lawn care provider before trying to dispose of it.
Wrap the fertilizer container (empty or still containing fertilizer) in newspaper and in a heavy plastic bag, tape it closed, and it can then be disposed of with your household garbage.
