Baby Car Seats

Recycling centers that accept: Baby Car Seats

If your car seat is not expired (the expiration date can be found on the back) and has not been in an accident, it is safe to reuse as long as its straps haven’t been cleaned with harsh chemicals. These chemicals, including bleach, wear down the straps and make the car seat unsafe. As long as all of these conditions are met, you can reuse the car seat for another child or give it to a friend that needs one.
You can recycle expired or damaged car seats by sending it to the center listed below. However, please note that you must pay to ship the seat.
If you are unable to recycle or reuse your old car seat, it is safe to throw away with your regular trash.

This is a mail-in program that recycles car seats, strollers, swings, jumpers, diaper bags, and high chairs. Shipping fees are charged. See website for details.
