On Saturday, April 29, 2017 Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful will host the 3rd annual Great Gwinnett Wetlands. As part of an ongoing partnership with Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources, this program seeks to grow awareness and promote the ongoing stewardship of Gwinnett’s wetlands and water resources.
In keeping with our mission, we hope to promote awareness of the wetlands that funnel into our streams, rivers and lakes, while creating a sense of ownership and collective responsibility among our citizens. It’s vital that we all work together to protect and maintain these wetlands and precious water sources like the Chattahoochee River, Yellow River and Lake Lanier.
Throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning, including monitoring the health of the wetland and water quality, picking-up litter that act as pollutants, and removing invasive plants that choke the health of the wetland. As a thank you for their participation, all volunteers will receive a specially designed t-shirt to commemorate the program. Please REGISTER below!
