Organization Dedicated to Connecting People and Resources for a Sustainable Gwinnett Makes it to Final Round in Regional Business Award Program in Nonprofit Category
Lawrenceville, Ga. – April 16, 2019 – Established in 1980 to provide solutions for illegal dumping and littering in Gwinnett County, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful (GCB) has grown to become a leading nonprofit organization charged with educating and engaging the public in on-going efforts to improve the local environment and citizens’ quality of life. In recognition of its community-focused efforts, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful has been designated as a finalist for the IMPACT Regional Business Awards. Hosted by the Gwinnett Chamber, the IMPACT Awards pay tribute to premier organizations in top industries that are driving economic development and job creation, while enhancing quality of life.
“We are truly honored to be recognized in the nonprofit category for this year’s IMPACT Regional Business Awards,” said Schelly Marlatt, Executive Director for Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful. “While our efforts might not be as measurable as a company that adds hundreds of jobs to Gwinnett County or brings hundreds of thousands of dollars to our local economy, GCB DOES have an impact on making our community more attractive to new companies that will influence job creation and homebuyers who will enhance the local economy. A cleaner, greener, more sustainable community is not only highly attractive to anyone considering a move to Gwinnett for business or housing, it’s also extremely important to our overall quality of life – from the clean air that we breathe to the clean water that we drink. In addition to the Nonprofit category, IMPACT Regional Business Award recipients will be selected in the following sectors: AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction); Education; Healthcare; Hospitality; Information Technology; International; Service; and Small Business. An overall IMPACT Regional Business Awards recipient will be selected from one of the above category winners.
