Created in 2000, Great Days of Service is recognized as one of the largest volunteer days of service in the United States. Held annually in October, this event mobilizes individuals, corporations, churches, schools, civic organizations, and communities in meaningful volunteer service to address some of Gwinnett’s most crucial needs. Projects vary each year depending upon the need.
This year, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is teaming up with Gwinnett County’s Department of Economic Development and Community Services (Parks) to host a recycling collection event in Mechanicsville. This event features free paper shredding, tire recycling and proper retirement of flags. Residents and business owners are encouraged to bring these items to Best Friend Park on October 21st, between 10am-2pm. The address is 6224 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross.
Items collected and limitations are:
Paper Shredding: Maximum of 10 copier paper boxes per vehicle
Flags: No limit
Tires: Maximum of 16 tires per vehicle. Tires must be free of rims, mud, water and debris.
